We are also engaged as a service provider for the supply, erection and commissioning of water treatment plants for industries, dialysis units and domestic water treatment for potable purposes. Based on the raw water quality and treated water characteristics we are using different treatment techniques like Iron Removal filters, Ultrafiltration, Reverse osmosis, Water softeners and disinfection system.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a significant, anticipatory, environmental management tool. It is an assessment of the possible impact—positive or negative, that a proposed project may have on the environment; considering natural, social and economic aspects.
Environmental risks are inherent in the design and operations of any plant. Therefore Risk Assessment and Hazardous Management are being done in Industries to evaluate the impact of Hazardous substance and situation.
We have conducted a wide number of studies for a number of industries which includes:
Petroleum Refineries
Chemical Industries
The treatment of the concentrated dye bath from the wet processing and dyeing units was proving to be a major headache to such industries. Based on the know-how of Dr.Pillai, a scheme was developed for treating and evaporating the waste using the steam being generally wasted in such industries. ELPL has designed and installed more than twenty five such thermal evaporation systems utilizing waste energy in Tamil Nadu. In this waste utilization process, the dye bath is segregated, and the toxic dyes are destroyed in a reactor. The salt present in solution is recovered by the Thermal evaporation and recycled. The condensate obtained by condensing the vapour from the evaporation is of distilled water quality and can also be recycled in the process. Thus ELPL had been able to provide the only viable treatment system for the TDS reduction in the dyeing units.
We were the project management consultants of State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu for their common Effluent Treatment Plant of a cluster of Textile Wet Processing Units at the industrial growth centre, Perundurai, for treating their concentrated dye bath. Also we were the management consultants of Renuga Textiles, Theni for their Sodium Sulphate recovery plant. We have provided system for recovery of sodium silicate from the printing effluent of Pioneer Processing Mills, Erode.
